Can Essential Oils be ingested?
All of our essential Oils are 100% pure free from any chemicals or pesticides. However, we do not recommend the ingestion of any essential oils. They are highly concentrated and have the capacity to cause serious damage if used internally without the necessary expertise required in administering it.
How are essential oils used?
- Inhalation: Inhalation is an excellent method of use for a quick and easy exposure to the anti-microbial and other therapeutic uses of essential oils. Inhaling the oil can be done by holding the bottle of essential oil a few inches from the nose and breathing in the aroma, or apply 1-2 drops of oil to the palms, rub together gently and inhale deeply.
- Baths: Adding essential oils to a hot, soothing bath can create a relaxing and therapeutic experience.
- Topical: Topical application is a very effective method for applying essential oils. Because essential oils have low molecular weights and are lipid soluble, they easily penetrate the skin. Once absorbed, they stay in the applied area for a localized benefit. There are many ways to increase absorption. Pure essential oils are significantly more concentrated than the whole plant, therefore dilute with a base (carrier oil) before appliying oil directly on skin. Dilute with Jojoba oil, Fractionated Coconut oil or any other carrier oil of your choice.
- Essential Oil Diffuser: Diffusers and Aromatherapy go hand-in-hand. Adding essential oils to a diffuser effectively introduces the therapeutic properties and fragrance to any environment.
